Josh Ferrer, Prevention With Positives Coordinator, has been working as an educator for over six years. He currently works with HIV positive gay and bisexual men on issues of disclosure and safer sex in the +alk workshops. He specializes in topics of disclosure, safer sex, risk reduction, and serodiscordant relationships.
Shelagh Johnson, Education and Family Services Team Lead, has been providing sexuality education and training for youth, adults, and professionals for almost a decade. Specializing in comprehensive sexuality education, youth-adult partnerships, and social marketing, Shelagh brings creativity and humor to her presentations and trainings. She has presented at local, regional, and national conferences, and consults with numerous agencies and youth-serving professionals regarding HIV/AIDS, sexuality, and related health issues.
Shyle Ruder, Bilingual Client Education Coordinator, has worked in client education at CAP for six years. She is trained in facilitating Ready to Rent, Money Matters, and Positive Living (a Positive Self-Management course for those living with HIV and/or caregivers to those individuals), and uses peer facilitators in each of these series. She also facilitates sessions in Spanish. Shyle also organizes the What's New in HIV Conference, a client and community education event.
Joseph Sedillo, B.A., Oregon AIDS/STD Hotline Coordinator, comes from a background of HIV prevention and community education. Beginning his work in the non-profit field as an HIV tester and counselor, Joseph has run small-group workshops for the HIV+ community, been responsible for conducting outreach in the community and conducting a variety of presentations on HIV/STD, stigma, and risk reduction. He serves as one of CAP's educators, co-facilitating a group for mixed status couples called Magnetic Men, conducting trainings through the Oregon AIDS/STD Hotline, and providing education to the Portland community.
Donna Standing Rock, Housing Case Manager, has worked in HIV education, prevention, and advocacy for 19 years and has been a CAP employee for 6 1/2 years. Donna specializes in educating and presenting to populations such as persons using or in recovery from substance abuse, incarcerated populations, persons living with HIV, women, and students in higher education classes. She enjoys interactive and engaging presentations that create an atmosphere that allows participants to engage in conversations around intimate and sensitive topics.
Annika Shore, Youth HIV Education Coordinator, is a sexuality and HIV prevention educator working primarily with youth. She works with and trains Cascade AIDS Project's peer educators through the Teen2Teen program, and provides comprehensive sexuality education to the community that is engaging, interactive, (fun!) and mostly importantly, relevant to the lives of the young people in our community.
