Cascade AIDS Project benefits from event fundraising — in fact, almost 25% of our budget comes from event fundraising. We go about our event fundraising in 3 ways:
- We put them on ourselves - Events that raise the most funds for CAP we put on ourselves, which means we employ staff, expend funds, seek sponsorships and more. The two main events of this sort are AIDS Walk Portland and Art Auction.
- You put them on for us - Events produced in the community, by the community for CAP are a great way for businesses and individuals to help CAP fight HIV and AIDS. An example of this kind of fundraising includes the Scandal’s Pride Block Party — Scandals threw the party, we were the benefactor. Typically CAP offers marketing and planning support. We ask that you complete a form so we can help one another. The form is here. Click here for more information about this type of event.
- We put one on together - This doesn’t happen as often, as CAP runs a lean fundraising office, but occasionally, we are able to work hand-in-hand on new events. One example of this is Hamburger Mary’s Iron Mary — a 13 week culinary competition — think reality TV and hamburgers.
