AIDS Walk Portland, a 2.5 mile (almost 5k) annual walk brings together individuals, teams and volunteers with the goal of raising much-needed funds for HIV/AIDS services, public education and outreach to youth and adults most at risk for contracting HIV. AIDS Walk Portland showcases community spirit as people from all walks of life come together in the fight against AIDS.
Participants enjoy breakfast, music, entertainment, the Kids’ Corner (arts and crafts, face painting, prizes and balloons), and inspirational presentations from community leaders. The focus of AIDS Walk is to increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education in order to remind the community that HIV has not gone away, infection rates in Oregon and SW Washington continue to rise and there are many things you can do.
